A Sidewinder is a Roller Coaster Element featuring a Single Inversion. It begins with a half loop, however on the exit half of the Element the Track twists to either the left or the right. Because of this Twist the Exit is about 90° to the Entry point. The exit of this Element is often at about the same height as the entry, however variations of the Sidewinder Element can look like the first half of a Cobra Roll with the exit being higher up. The Sidewinder Element is most commonly used on the Vekoma SLC Model, including Chinese made Knock-Off’s.
This Element also exists in a variant where it is entered at the twist and exited on the half loop. This variant is simply known as a Reverse Sidewinder.
